Women’s Swimming & Diving remains in second after night two of 2026 NCAA Championships

The Longhorns recorded five top-seven finishes, including two third-place results.
ATLANTA – Texas Women's Swimming and Diving remained in second place with 183 points behind Virginia (249) after the second night of the four-day NCAA Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center. The Longhorns recorded five top-seven finishes, highlighted by third-place efforts from Nikolett Padar in the 200-yard freestyle and Bayleigh Cranford on 1-meter. Texas also added a fifth-place finish from Piper Enge in the 100 breaststroke, a seventh-place finish from Campbell Stoll in the 100 butterfly and a seventh-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.
The Longhorns opened night two with a seventh-place finish from Stoll in the 100-butterfly, touching in 50.61. Stoll split 23.48 on the opening 50 before closing in 27.13, including a 13.86 final 25, after a reaction time of 0.67.
Texas saw its first third-place finish from Padar in the 200-freestyle, as the freshman clocked a 1:40.78 in the final after posting a 1:41.00 in prelims. The freshman opened in 23.49 and split 49.30 at the 100 before coming home in 51.48, including a 25.76 final 50, with a reaction time of 0.69.
Enge recorded a fifth-place finish in the 100-breaststroke, touching in 57.76 after posting a 57.92 in prelims. She opened in 27.23 and split 42.45 at the 75 before closing in 15.31 over the final 25.
Cranford opened the diving events for the Longhorns with a third-place finish on 1-meter, totaling 320.65 points. She closed strong with a 66.00 on her final dive, a reverse 2½ somersault tuck, to secure a podium finish, while adding scores of 52.50 on her back 1½ somersault 1½ twist and 51.60 on her inward 1½ somersault pike.
Texas closed the night with a seventh-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay, touching in 1:26.42 after posting a 1:26.62 in prelims. The quartet of Eva Okaro, Lillie Nesty, Lucy Mehraban and Erin Gemmell combined for splits of 21.66, 21.60, 21.40 and 21.76, respectively.
The Longhorns also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors in multiple events. In the 200 freestyle, Nesty placed 15th (1:43.31) and Gemmell finished 12th (1:42.92). Stoll added a 12th-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:04.99.
Texas continues competition at the NCAA Championships from Friday, March 20 through Saturday, March 21 at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Friday's championship finals include the 100-backstroke, 200-breaststroke, 500-freestyle and 50-freestyle, along with the 400-medley relay finals and 3-meter diving. Prelims begin at 9 a.m. CT, with finals sessions scheduled to start each day at 5 p.m. CT. All prelim and finals sessions will be streamed live on ESPN+.
