Torres enters Track & Field's top-10 list to lead distance squad at Bryan Clay Invitational

Bennett posts 10-second PR in steeplechase as Longhorns open competition on Thursday night.
AZUSA, Calif. – The Texas Track & Field distance squad opened competition Thursday night at the Bryan Clay Invitational with a standout performance from Aidan Torres in the men's 10,000 meters at Cougar Stadium.
Torres clocked 28:59.76 in his first collegiate 10K to break the 29-minute barrier and move to No. 9 on Texas' all-time performers list in the event.
In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Hudson Bennett recorded a 10-second personal best, finishing 11th overall in 8:49.94.
On the women's side, Aishling Callanan posted a time of 10:39.88 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational resumes Friday, beginning with Emma Wade in the women's 800-meter open at 2 p.m. Meanwhile, the remainder of the Longhorns will open competition at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., starting at 11 a.m. CT with four Texas student-athletes competing in the women's 200 meters.
