The campus landmark will be lit in Burnt Orange in recognition of the team’s SEC regular season and tournament conference titles.
Austin – The University of Texas Tower will be lit in Burnt Orange on Thursday night to commemorate Texas Men's Tennis' 2026 Southeastern Conference regular season and tournament championships. Per tradition, the University recognizes UT sports programs that win a conference team championship with a Burnt Orange lighting of the campus landmark.
Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street at 8:30 p.m. CT to watch the team take photo.
In their second season in the SEC, the No. 1 Longhorns (24-6) captured the outright regular-season title with a 12-2 record in league play. Texas has won at least a share of its conference title in six of the last seven years (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026) and claimed it outright in the last four of those (2019, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026), discounting 2020 when the conference schedule was not played due to the pandemic.
In winning the SEC Championship title on Sunday, it was also back-to-back in that tournament for Texas. It is the third-straight conference tournament title for the Longhorns, including the 2024 Big 12 Championship, and the 10th overall in program history. It was also the seventh time, including the last three years, the program has won both the tournament and regular season championships, after also winning the Big 12 regular season title in 2024.
In receiving the SEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the Longhorns will now await the NCAA selection show to determine their seeding and hosting. That will air on NCAA.com on Monday, April 27, at 3 p.m. CT.
