Beach Volleyball earns No. 2 seed in NCAA Championship

Longhorns secure highest seed in program history, return to NCAA Tournament.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball was named the No. 2 seed in the 2026 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, the NCAA announced Sunday. The Longhorns will travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama, marking their second NCAA Tournament appearance and highest seeding in program history.
Texas enters the championship following a title run at the MPSF Championship on Friday, capturing the program's first MPSF Tournament title in its first season in the conference.
The Longhorns finished the MPSF Championship undefeated, recording wins over No. 6 seed Grand Canyon, No. 2 seed UCLA twice and No. 5 USC. Texas has now defeated top-ranked UCLA three consecutive times and went 3-0 against both USC and Grand Canyon during the 2026 season.
Texas will face No. 15 seed Georgia State in the first round, with the winner goes on and face the winner between TCU and Loyola Marymount in the quarterfinals.
The NCAA Championship will take place at Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 1-3, on ESPN2. The Championship match will be aired on ESPN.
The University of Texas Tower will be lit in Burnt Orange on Sunday night to commemorate Texas Women's Beach Volleyball 2026 MPSF Conference tournament championship.
Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street at 8:30 p.m. CT to watch the team take photo.
