Duo recognized after leading Texas to MPSF Championship title.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball's Katie Hashman and Brecht Piersma were named the AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday.
The selection marks the second weekly honor of the season for the Longhorns.
Hashman and Piersma were instrumental in Texas' run to the MPSF Championship in Huntington Beach, California, where they were named to the All-Tournament Team and earned Most Valuable Pair honors, which were announced Monday.
Competing as the Longhorns' No. 1 pair, the duo posted a 4-0 record during the tournament, including delivering a match-tying point in the championship dual against top-ranked UCLA. Hashman and Piersma recorded two wins over the Bruins, along with victories against USC and Grand Canyon.
The selection marks the second career AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week honor for Hashman and the first for Piersma.
