No. 2 Beach Volleyball earns six All-MPSF selections; Metzger named Coach of the Year

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Beach Volleyball placed six student-athletes on the All-MPSF teams, the conference announced Thursday. Head coach Stein Metzger was named MPSF Coach of the Year.
Texas, which earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, led the conference with six all-conference selections and three All-Freshman Team honorees.
Katie Hashman, Brecht Piersma and Anna Pavelkova earned All-MPSF First Team honors. Kačka Pavelkova, Emma Grace Robertson and Lily Davis were named to the second team, while Anna Pavelkova, Kačka Pavelkova and Davis also earned All-Freshman Team recognition.
Anna Pavelkova became the first player in program history to earn both All-MPSF First Team and All-Freshman Team honors in the same season.
Hashman earned her second all-conference selection after previously being named to the CCSA All-Conference Team last season alongside Robertson. Piersma collected her first all-conference honor.
Texas' No. 1 pair of Hashman and Piersma posted a 20-7 record during the 2026 season, including key wins in the Longhorns' run to the MPSF Championship in Huntington Beach, California. The duo was also named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team and earned Most Valuable Pair honors, in addition to AVCA Pair of the Week recognition.
Anna Pavelkova and Kačka Pavelkova, competing primarily on Court 2, finished 15-10 and earned first- and second-team honors, respectively, while both were named to the All-Freshman Team.
Robertson and Davis went 16-5 on the season to earn All-MPSF Second Team recognition. Davis also earned All-Freshman Team honors. The pair was named MPSF and AVCA Pair of the Week on March 24.
Texas led the conference with three All-Freshman Team selections.
Metzger earned Coach of the Year honors after leading Texas to a 26-6 record entering the NCAA Championship and guiding the program to its first MPSF title in its debut season in the conference.
Texas is in Gulf Shores, Alabama, for the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship, set for May 1-3.
