No. 2 Beach Volleyball sweeps Georgia State, advances to NCAA quarterfinals

The Longhorns will face No. 7 seed Loyola Marymount on Saturday.
GULF SHORES, Ala. – No. 2 Texas Beach Volleyball defeated No. 15 seed Georgia State, 3-0, on Friday to advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship.
Texas will face No. 7 seed Loyola Marymount in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 2, at 11 a.m. CT. The match will broadcast live on ESPN2, with streaming available on ESPN+.
The winner of the Texas-Loyola Marymount matchup will advance to face the winner of No. 3 UCLA and No. 6 Cal Poly in Saturday afternoon's semifinals.
Texas opened the dual with a win on Court 1 as the pair of Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman posted a 21-10, 21-13 victory. Anna Pavelkova and Kacka Pavelkova followed on Court 2 with a 21-13, 21-17 win to give the Longhorns a 2-0 lead.
Macey Butler and Karin Zoinercikova led on Court 5, 21-13, 19-14, when the match was abandoned, while Emma Grace Robertson and Lily Davis led 21-16, 15-19 on Court 3 when play was halted.
With the win, the Longhorns extended their winning streak to 14 matches.
Texas holds a 3-1 all-time record against Loyola Marymount, including a 2-0 mark during the 2026 season.
In last year's NCAA Championship, Texas fell to eventual national champion TCU in the second round.
