Beach Volleyball’s Hashman, Butler named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Duo helped Texas reach the NCAA Championship semifinals for the first time in program history.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball's Katie Hashman and Macey Butler have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Austin natives were recognized among the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements in competition and in the classroom. Hashman was also selected as a finalist for Academic All-America honors. The CSC Academic All-America first, second and third teams will be announced July 7.
Hashman capped off a standout senior season with AVCA All-America and All-MPSF First Team honors after helping lead the Longhorns to the NCAA Tournament Final Four. Alongside partner Brecht Piersma, she was named as part of the MPSF Tournament Most Valuable Pair and earned MPSF All-Tournament and MPSF All-Academic Team recognition. Hashman graduated with a degree in Finance and posted a 3.58 GPA.
Competing primarily on Court 1 with Piersma, Hashman posted a 24-9 record and closed the season on an 11-match winning streak. The pair went 4-0 at the MPSF Tournament and 2-0 at the NCAA Championships, highlighted by four victories over top-ranked UCLA during the season. Hashman and Prima were also named AVCA/CBVB Pair of the Week on April 28.
Butler earned MPSF All-Tournament Team recognition after helping Texas capture the conference championship. She went 4-0 during the tournament, including the title-clinching victory alongside Karin Zolnercikova against UCLA.
For the season, Butler compiled a 19-10 overall record while competing across Courts 3, 4 and 5. She won 10 of her final 11 matches and finished the 2025-26 campaign with a combined record of 44-21, including marks of 26-12 on Court 4 and 16-6 on Court 5.
Butler earned her degree in advertising, recording a 3.74 GPA. A two-time conference all-academic honoree, Butler earned CCSA All-Academic Team recognition in 2025 and MPSF All-Academic Team honors in 2026. She was also part of Texas teams that received the AVCA Team Academic Award during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years.
Texas finished the 2026 season with a program-best 28-7 record and a first-ever trip to the NCAA Championship semifinals after capturing the MPSF Tournament championship.
