Austin – Texas Men's Tennis has signed international standout Tomasz Berkieta (TOH-mahs BERK-ee-EH-tah) to an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA), head coach Bruce Berque announced Tuesday. Berkieta will join the program in the fall of 2026.
"Tomasz represents another extremely impactful addition to our team," Berque said. "His results clearly demonstrate that he has been one of the best junior players in the world, and the eye test tells me that he has got some massive weapons. He knows several of our current and future players, and we are all confident that he will be another great fit with our culture."
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to join Texas," Berkieta said. "The team environment, coaching staff, and overall culture stood out to me throughout the process. After getting to know the program and meeting the team, I felt that Texas was the right fit for me. I'm looking forward to building relationships with my teammates, continuing to improve and helping the team compete at a high level."
A native of Warsaw, Poland, Berkieta has posted career-high ATP rankings of No. 479 in singles in April 2026, and No. 619 in doubles in February 2026. He has also had a high juniors ranking of No. 6, was the 2024 Roland Garros Junior Singles Runner-Up, and owns nine juniors and four pro titles.
