Women’s Basketball to host UCLA for exhibition game

The Longhorns will play UCLA in an exhibition game on Oct. 25 at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas women's basketball team will host UCLA in Nyle Maxwell's Lonestar Showcase on Oct. 25 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park the schools announced today.
The Longhorns and Bruins met twice in the 2025-26 season. No. 4 Texas beat No. 3 UCLA on Nov. 26 in the Player's Era Championship first game. No. 2 UCLA bested No. 3 Texas in the national semifinal on April 3. The Bruins went on to claim the 2026 NCAA Championship with a victory over South Carolina.
Texas and UCLA have played 15 times in their history with Texas holding an 8-7 series advantage. Prior to the two meetings in the 2025-26 season the teams last played on March 24, 2021 in the second round of the NCAA tournament with Texas winning to advance to the Sweet 16.
The 2025-26 season was historic for Texas women's basketball as they advanced to the Final Four for a second straight season for the first time since 1987. Texas captured the 2026 SEC Tournament Championship and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season. Texas finished the season with an overall record of 35-4. The Longhorns won a nation-leading 16 games over ranked opponents, including four wins over top-5 teams and six wins over top-10 teams.
Tickets will be available for Texas women's basketball season ticket holders to purchase on Wednesday, Sept. 2 and open to the general public on Friday, Sept. 4.
