Quartet from Women’s Swimming named to U.S. National Team roster

Cox, Enge, Gemmell and Hurst earns spots on Team USA.
AUSTIN, Texas — Four current University of Texas women's swimmers have been named to the 2026-27 U.S. National Team roster, USA Swimming announced Tuesday. Junior Jillian Cox, junior Piper Enge, senior Erin Gemmell and junior Kate Hurst were selected to Team USA.
Cox, who has claimed three NCAA individual titles (500 freestyle and 1,650 freestyle in 2025; 1,650 freestyle in 2026) during her first two seasons in Austin, was selected to compete in the 800 and 1,500 freestyle with the U.S. National Team. Enge was tabbed to compete in the 50 and 100 breaststroke.
Gemmell, who captured a silver medal in the women's 4x200-meter freestyle relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was selected to compete in the 200 freestyle. Hurst was chosen to compete in the 400 and 1500 freestyle.
The Longhorns will open the 2026-27 season by hosting the Sam Kendricks Dust Off Your Boots Classic on Friday, Sept. 25. The meet is set for a 3 p.m. CT start at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
