Texas Athletics Hall of Honor inducts 13 new members

The Class of 2026 was inducted Friday night on The University of Texas campus.
AUSTIN, Texas — Twelve former University of Texas student-athletes and one former coach were inducted into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor during a ceremony Friday night at the LBJ Auditorium and Conference Center. The newest Hall of Honor members will also be recognized on the field during the first quarter of the Longhorns' football game against UTSA on Saturday night.
The 72nd Men's Hall of Honor class includes: Mark Boswell (Track and Field, 1998-2000), a two-time Olympian, four-time NCAA high jump champion, five-time All-American and five-time Big 12 individual champion; Malcom Brown (Football, 2012-14), a consensus First-Team All-American at defensive tackle who was a finalist for both the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and the Outland Trophy in 2014 before going on to be an NFL first-round Draft Pick who played in three-straight Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and winning a pair of Super Bowl rings in 2017 and 2018; widely regarded as the best shot putter ever, Ryan Crouser (Track and Field, 2012-16), is a three-time Olympic gold medalist, three-time world champion and world record holder who captured four NCAA shot put championships, eight individual Big 12 individual titles and earned 11 career All-America honors; Jackson Jeffcoat (Football, 2010-13), a three-time All-Big 12 selection who earned consensus First-Team All-America honors and was the Ted Hendricks Award winner (nation's top defensive end) and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 before playing in the NFL with and going on to a sensational six-year career in the Canadian Football League; Garrett Weber-Gale (Swimming and Diving, 2004-07), a two-time Olympic gold medalist, two-time NCAA champion, 19-time Big 12 Conference champion, three-time Big 12 Swimmer of the Year and 23-time All-American who led Texas to four consecutive Big 12 team titles and four-straight top-seven finishes at the NCAA Championship; Mike Williams (Football, 1998-2001), a consensus First-Team All-America selection at offensive tackle in 2001 who helped the Longhorns record four-straight seasons with at least nine victories and finish ranked in the top-25 each year before being selected as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft and playing five seasons in the NFL; and Vintage Selection Lawrence Sampleton (Football, 1978-81), an All-Southwest Conference selection who ranks among the UT career leaders in all major receiving categories by a tight end while helping the Longhorns post three nine-win seasons and a trio of top-12 final rankings during his time on the Forty Acres.
The 27th Women's Hall of Honor class includes: Khat Bell (Volleyball, 2011-14), a three-time All-American who led the Longhorns to the 2012 NCAA Championship and four-straight Big 12 Conference titles before embarking on a highly-successful professional volleyball career; Connie Clark (Softball Head Coach, 1995-2018), the first-ever head coach in program history who led the Longhorns to five trips to the Women's College World Series, four Big 12 regular-season titles and four Big 12 Tournament crowns in 22 varsity seasons; Blaire Luna (Softball, 2010-13), a four-time All-American, Big 12 Player and Freshman of the Year in 2010, and three-time USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top-10 finalist who led the Longhorns to the Women's College World Series semifinals in 2013 and still ranks second in program history in career wins (112), strikeouts (1,428) and no-hitters (8); Evwella Munn (Basketball, 1979-80), a dynamic guard who set the school career record for assists (301) in just two seasons while leading the Longhorns to a combined 70-8 record and a pair of top-seven final national rankings; Amy Shaw (Swimming and Diving, 1990-93), a nine-time All-American and one of the top individual medley event competitors in program history who led the Longhorns to back-to-back NCAA team championships in 1990 and 1991 and four consecutive Southwest Conference titles; and Janet Walker (Tennis, 1998-2001), an ITA All-American in singles and the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in 2000 and five-time All-Big 12 selection who led the Longhorns to four straight Big 12 regular season and tournament titles and trips to the NCAA quarterfinals in 1998 and round of 16 in both 2000 and 2001.
