09.18.2026 | Women's Swimming and Diving
The Longhorns have won 14 consecutive conference titles and recorded six-straight top-three NCAA team finishes entering the 2026-27 season.
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas Women's Swimming and Diving team is ranked No. 3 in the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) preseason poll for the 2026-27 season. The rankings are voted on by committees of Division I coaches representing a cross-section of programs and conferences throughout the country.
Poll committee members evaluate teams based on head-to-head performances, nationally ranked performances, significant performances achieved since the previous poll, results from invitational and championship-style competition, and the quality of depth of performances across events. Together, these criteria are intended to provide a comprehensive assessment of each program's performance at the time of the poll, while recognizing different competitive opportunities and formats that occur throughout the collegiate season.
Head Coach Carol Capitani is in her 15th season at the helm of the Texas program. She has led the Longhorns to 14 consecutive conference titles (12 Big 12 Conference, two Southeastern Conference). Texas has registered six straight top-three NCAA team finishes, including runner-up efforts in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and third-place results in 2021, 2025 and 2026.
The Longhorns will open the 2026-27 season by hosting the Sam Kendricks Dust Off Your Boots Classic on Friday, Sept. 25. The meet is set for a 3 p.m. CT start at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
