- Volunteer Assistant Coach
Former North Carolina tennis standout Alex Rafiee began serving as a Volunteer Assistant with The University of Texas Men’s Tennis program in the fall of 2012.
“Alex has been an incredible addition to our program,” head coach Michael Center said. “He is a relentless worker who brings a lot of passion to work every day. We are a much-improved team this year and lot of the credit goes to Alex for his work on the court. Our players and coaching staff are very fortunate to have him as a member of this program.”
Rafiee graduated from the University of North Carolina in the spring of 2012 (Psychology major) after lettering four seasons with the Tar Heels, including a regional semifinal run in the NCAA tournament in 2012. The native of Huntsville, Ala., was the state’s second-ranked prospect in the class of 2008 out of the Randolph School.
Rafiee is the son of Farid and Misuk Rafiee and has one older brother, Jimmy.
