Tiffany Jackson, a Longhorn Legend and former Texas Women’s Basketball All-American enters her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater.

Jackson, a nine-year WNBA veteran and a three-time Associated Press All-American, works with the Texas post players.

In her first season as an assistant coach, Jackson was responsible for the development of forward Joyner Holmes, who was named an All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention selection. Holmes led the Longhorns in rebounding with 6.7 boards per game and ranked in the top-20 in the Big 12 in both rebounding and scoring. She turned in four double-doubles on the year.

Jackson also developed freshman Charli Collier, who led the Longhorns in blocks as a rookie and averaged 5.9 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Collier was the 2018-19 Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

Jackson, a 6-foot-3 forward, was the fifth overall pick in the 2007 WNBA Draft - the second-highest draft selection in program history - by the New York Liberty and played in 225 career games with 69 starts for the Liberty [2007-10], Tulsa Shock [2010-15] and the Los Angeles Sparks [2017]. In her WNBA career, Jackson averaged 6.2 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also made three career WNBA Playoff appearances.

Jackson played for Maccabi Ashdod in Israel from 2012-18, winning the Israeli league championship each season, including capturing the Israeli Cup this past March. She was a four-time Israeli Cup Finals Most Valuable Player Selection, a two-time Forward of the Year and a two-time Center of the Year. She has also been named Israeli League Player of the Year.

Jackson came to The University of Texas from Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, where she was both a McDonald's All-American and a WBCA All-American, and was the consensus No. 2 national prospect. She was a member of Duncanville's 2003 State Championship Team and was the state of Texas' Gatorade Player of the Year. Jackson was recently inducted into the Duncanville ISD Hall of Honor.

Jackson had a decorated career at The University of Texas from 2003-07 under Hall of Fame coach Jody Conradt. She played in 123 career games with 103 starts. The Longhorns compiled an 83-43 record during her playing days, including her freshman season [2003-04] on the school's 30-5 team that advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 and finished with a No. 4 final ranking in the Associated Press Poll. In her rookie campaign, Jackson was named the National Freshman of the Year by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and ESPN.com.

Jackson's name can be found close to the top of nearly every statistical category in the Texas record books. She is the only person in program history to have accomplished the combined feat of 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 300 steals and 150 blocks. Jackson currently ranks fifth in school history with 1,917 career points, fourth with 1,039 career rebounds, third with 313 steals and seventh with 181 blocked shots. She is one of only five players in program history to record more than 1,000 career points and more than 1,000 career rebounds.

Jackson holds the Texas school records for free throws made [487] and free throws attempted [700]. She is the school's all-time career minutes per game leader at 31.8 and her 3,914 total minutes played are second all-time at UT. Jackson led UT in both scoring and rebounding for three consecutive seasons [2005, 2006, 2007] - only one of two players [Stacy Stephens is the other] in school history to accomplish that feat. Jackson was Texas' steals leader in each of her four seasons on the Forty Acres and is one of only two players [NeKeshia Henderson is the other] to do that.

Jackson is one of three three-time All-Americans in UT history [joining Linda Waggoner and Andrea Lloyd], earning AP All-America recognition in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and USBWA All-America honors in 2005. She was a four-time member of the All-Big 12 Conference Team, including a three-time first-team selection. Jackson is one of just six players in UT history to earn first-team All-Conference honors in three different seasons. She also was the 2004 Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

In 2005, Jackson was a finalist for several national player of the year honors, including the Wade Trophy and the Wooden Award.

Jackson has served as a head coach with the DFW Elite Girls Basketball Club, part of the Nike EYBL. She has worked with DFW Elite since 2005.

Jackson earned her bachelor's degree in applied learning and development from The University of Texas in 2012. She has one son, Marley, born December 12, 2012.
