Heidi Wlezien joined the Texas Athletics Sports Medicine staff in October of 2015 and worked for 6 seasons with the women’s basketball team. She currently provides coverage for the Women’s Beach Volleyball team.
Prior to coming to the University of Texas, she worked with The Chicago Sky WNBA team for two seasons and for Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. She also spent two seasons at Eastern Illinois University as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the women’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s rugby, and men’s and women’s swimming teams.
Wlezien completed her Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Illinois University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Upper Iowa University. In 2019, Wlezien was inducted into the Parkland College Athletic Hall of Fame and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
A native of Cissna Park, Ill., she and her husband Chris currently reside in Austin. The couple has three sons and one daughter.
