Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton begins her fourth season at The University of Texas in the 2025-26 season. Wisdom-Hylton is the recruiting coordinator for Texas and works primarily with the Longhorn post players. In the 2024-25 sason she mentored Taylor Jones who earned WBCA All-America honorable mention recognition.
2024-25 was a historic season for the Longhorns as they won 35 games to set a program record for wins in the NCAA Era. Texas advanced to the Final Four for the first time in 22 years and won the SEC regular season championship in their first season in the league. Madison Booker was named the SEC Player of the Year and an Associated Press First Team All-American. Booker won the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year award for the second straight season. Rori Harmon and Taylor Jones earned WBCA All-America honorable mention honors and Jordan Lee earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.
In the 2023-24 season Texas won 33 games, their most in a season since the 1985-86 season. The Longhorns won the Big 12 Tournament Championship, marking their third straight conference championship. Texas advanced to the Elite Eight for the third time in the last four seasons. Madison Booker earned WBCA All-America honors and was named the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year. Booker was also selected Big 12 Player of the Year and Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
In the 2022-23 season the Longhorns went 26-10 and captured the Big 12 regular season title, their first regular season crown since the 2003-04 season. Rori Harmon earned All-America honorable mentions honors and was selected the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Big 12 First Team honoree. Joining Harmon the All-Big 12 First Team was DeYona Gastona. Shaylee Gonzales earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team. Amina Muhammad earned selection to the Big 12 All Freshman Team.
Wisdom-Hylton spent the last season as an assistant coach at Boston College and the two previous seasons at Wisconsin. She spent seven seasons on the Purdue sidelines after earning two honorable mention All-America honors for the Boilermakers as a player. She spent four seasons in the WNBA after being drafted in the first round in 2009.
Wisdom-Hylton graduated from Purdue with a degree in organizational leadership supervision with a minor in African-American studies 2009 and was the 13th overall pick in the first round of the WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks. She played two seasons with the Sparks, one with the Chicago Sky and her final season with the Mystics. Wisdom-Hylton also played professionally on the international level, competing for teams in Austria, France, Greece and Israel.
As a senior at Purdue, Wisdom-Hylton led the Boilermakers in scoring, rebounding, blocked shots and field goal percentage. She ranks second in Purdue history in career rebounds (968) and second all-time in blocked shots (281). She was the first player in Big Ten history to accumulate at least 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 300 steals and 200 blocks in a career.
The 6-foot-2 forward was two-time honorable mention All-American, two-time NCAA Regional All-Tournament, two-time Big Ten All-Tournament, a member of the 2005 Big Ten All-Freshman team, and three-time All-Big Ten, including a first-team selection as a junior and a senior. She was also the 2007 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and three-time member of the Big Ten All-Defensive Team. Wisdom-Hylton won two gold medals with USA Basketball, the first at the 2006 FIBA Americas U20 Championship and then again in 2007 at the U21 World Championship in Moscow.
The Naperville, Illinois, native was a standout at Neuqua Valley High School. Wisdom-Hylton averaged 15.0 points, 10.6 rebounds, 5.2 blocks and 4.9 steals as a senior, totaling 1,752 career points and 1,200 career rebounds. She is believed to be the first female in Illinois high school history to record 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 500 assists, 500 blocked shots and 500 steals.
In 2024 Wisdom-Hylton was inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
