Scouting Texas A&M: The Aggies are 12-10 on the season and ranked fourth in the conference standings with a 6-2 record. Their two conference losses have come against conference leader Baylor and Nebraska (third in conference). A&M is led by two players ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) top 100 in singles. Senior Helga Vieira and sophomore Anna Lubinsky are ranked Nos. 77 and 96, respectively. Vieira is 13-9 in duals and 7-1 in conference action, while Lubinsky is 15-7 on the season and 4-4 in Big 12 play.
Series vs. Texas A&M: This will be the 41st meeting between Texas and Texas A&M. UT holds a 35-5 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to a 7-2 Texas win on April 7, 1979, in College Station. The last meeting between the two teams was May 2, 2004, when the Aggies edged the Longhorns, 4-3, in the finals of the Big 12 Championships held in Norman, Okla. Earlier in the season, Petra Dizdar posted a dramatic three-set victory at No. 1 singles to help Texas defeat A&M, 4-3, in College Station and claim the Big 12 regular-season title.
Last Time on the Courts: Texas recorded its sixth shutout of the season with a 7-0 win over No. 18 William & Mary on Saturday, April 16. In their final non-conference match of the season, the Longhorns clinched the doubles point with a pair of 8-6 victories at Nos. 2 and 3 and took four of six singles matches in straight sets.
ITA Rankings: Texas is ranked 10th in the most recent ITA national team rankings, released on April 19. On an individual note, four Longhorns are ranked in the national poll: Dizdar is No. 58, Kendra Strohm is No. 109, Mia Marovic is No. 118 and the team of Katie Ruckert and Strohm are ranked No. 31 in doubles. The next set of team and individual rankings will be released April 26.
