04.29.2005 | Football
Former Longhorns QB Chance Mock and WR Tony Jeffery have been invited to the Houston Texans rookie mini-camp for a tryout with the team. Both players are from the Houston area with Mock attending The Woodlands High School and Jeffery attending Klein Forest.
Mock completed 115-of-213 passes for 1,613 yards and 17 TDs (No. 9 on the UT all-time list) with only two interceptions in 28 career games. He also had a streak of 106 consecutive passes without an interception to open his career, which is the longest stretch in UT history to open a career and the third-longest overall.
Jeffery was Texas' top receiver in 2004, catching 33 passes for 437 yards and three TDs. Over his career, he played in all 50 of UT's games over four seasons and recorded 57 catches for 714 yards and six TDs, while rushing 25 times for 127 yards and a TD. Jeffery also served as the Longhorns' holder, recovered two blocked punts for TDs and blocked four punts (T-No. 1 on the UT all-time blocked kicks list/No.1 punts) on special teams during his career.
