Texas earns at-large bid to 2005 NCAA Baseball Tournament as regional host site

INDIANAPOLIS -- The No. 3 University of Texas baseball team (45-14) was selected as one of 16 NCAA Regional Tournament host sites by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee on Sunday, May 29, and, as a result, earned an at-large berth to the 2005 NCAA Baseball Championship.
Of note, the Longhorns will not only be making their 47th NCAA Tournament appearance overall and seventh in a row, but will also host their 34th regional since 1947 and fourth in as many seasons.
The other 15 regional host schools and NCAA Baseball Championship participants include: Arizona State (33-22), Baylor (39-21), Cal St. Fullerton (41-14), Clemson (39-21), Florida (40-20), Florida State (50-18), Georgia Tech (41-16), LSU (38-20), Long Beach State (36-20), Miami (Fla.) (38-17-1), Mississippi (44-17), Nebraska (51-13), Oregon State (41-9), Tennessee (41-19) and Tulane (50-9). The entire 64-team field, including the tournament's top eight seeds, will be announced on ESPN on Monday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. Central.
