Hooker fifth in the U.S. Championships' 100 meters

CARSON, Calif. -- After a long collegiate season, sophomore Marshevet Hooker (San Antonio, Texas) ran an 11.33 to finish fifth in the 100 meters at the U.S. Championships on Saturday. Adidas' MeLisa Barber took the title with an 11.10 running into a head wind of 1.6 mph.
Hooker, who is just two weeks removed from an NCAA Championship in the 100 meters, used an 11.32 in the prelims and a personal-best 11.11w (wind: 2.1) in the semis to advance to the finals.
