NEW YORK -- Texas Volleyball will be featured prominently in the CSTV: College Sports Television volleyball programming lineup this fall. Four of the Longhorns' matches will air on CSTV's upcoming "AVCA Match of the Week" schedule, a schedule which includes more than 25 matches and five conference championships.
For the fourth consecutive season, CSTV brings fans top women's collegiate volleyball action with its comprehensive schedule of programming featuring the nation's elite teams. This fall, Texas will have the second-most regular season showings on CSTV with four, trailing only Nebraska (five).
CSTV's coverage kicks off on Saturday, August 26 from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Show tourney in Madison, Wisconsin, which features Texas, defending NCAA champion Washington, Ohio University and host Wisconsin. CSTV will broadcast both the third-place match (at 5 p.m. Central) and the championship contest (7:30 p.m., CT) from the AVCA Showcase.
The other Texas matches on CSTV include two games from Gregory Gym in Austin and one from Lincoln, Nebraska. The Texas-Penn State contest on Friday, Sept. 8 (6:30 p.m., Central) and the State Farm Lone Star Showdown matchup between Texas and Texas A&M (Wednesday, Nov. 8, 7 p.m.) will be carried live on CSTV. In November, the Texas-Nebraska match will air on a tape-delay basis. CSTV will carry that match on Sunday, Nov. 26 (7 p.m.); that Big 12 battle will take place the day before when UT faces the Huskers at 7 p.m. in Lincoln in the conference regular season finale.
Jason Knapp and Chris McGee will alternate handling play-by-play duties for the national TV matches, while Olympic bronze medalist Holly McPeak along with Tammy Blackburn provide the analysis. Veteran broadcaster Anne Marie Anderson will serve as both play-by-play and analyst throughout the season.
In addition, CSTV announced broadcast times for its groundbreaking performance-based reality series "Go Pro or Go Home", which documents the top women's collegiate volleyball players on and off the sand as they transition from the hard-court to the beach game. The series covers a three-day AVP Invitational Camp (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), the first-ever CSTV Collegiate Nationals tournament (Reno, NV) and the AVP Crocs Tour Hermosa Beach Open from past June. The three-part reality series debuts on Sunday, September 3 at 7 p.m. (Central). The other two episodes will air on Sept. 10 and Sept. 17, also at 7 p.m. Central time.
