Spann leads Women's Swimming at USA National Championships

IRVINE, Calif. and INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Texas sophomore Alexandra Spann (Austin, Texas) reached the "B" finals of the 100-meter breaststroke Thursday to lead UT at the 2006 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships.
Spann placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke "B" final in 1:12.51 after taking 13th in the preliminary round at 1:11.67. Former Longhorn Tanica Jamison added a 44th-place showing in the 50-meter freestyle preliminary round.
Junior diver Mary Yarrison (Springfield, Va.) advanced to Saturday's three-meter finals Thursday at the Kaiser Permanente USA Diving National Championships in Indianapolis. Yarrison vaulted from 18th place in the preliminary round to ninth place in the semifinals with a total of 243.60.
Junior diver Jessica Livingston (Houston, Texas) will take part in Friday's platform final at the USA Diving National Championships.
