Women's Swimming & Diving earns 20 All-SEC selections, Capitani named Swimming Coach of the Year

Texas places eight on the All-SEC First Team, while Capitani claims the conference's top coaching honor.
AUSTIN, Texas - The Southeastern Conference announced the annual women's swimming & diving awards to conclude the 2025-26 season. Head Coach Carol Capitani earned the Women's Swimming Coach of the Year award followed by 20 overall selections across the All-SEC and Freshman teams.
For the All-SEC Teams, the First Team consists of the top finisher in each event at the SEC Championships, the Second Team consists of the second-place finishers, and the Third Team consists of the third-place finishers. The All-Freshman Team consist of any redshirt or true freshman who finished either in the top eight or was the highest scoring freshman of each event at the SEC Championships, excluding relay events.
During the SEC Championships, Head Coach Carol Capitani coached her team to a second consecutive SEC title and notching the programs 38th overall conference championship. Furthermore, Texas has won 14-consecutive conference titles (12 Big 12 and 2 SEC) across two conferences, all since the arrival of head coach Capitani. During this year's SEC Championship victory, the Longhorns earned 21 medals (seven gold, 10 silver and four bronze).
Texas finished third overall at the 2026 NCAA Championships and registered two individual national championships, with Jillian Cox winning the 1650 freestyle and Campbell Stoll winning the 200 butterfly. Additionally, 12 Longhorns earned All-America honors across multiple events, while eight additional swimmers received Honorable Mention recognition. Under Capitani, Texas has placed among the top three in six consecutive years. The streak is the longest for Texas since 1990-95, the final years of a run of 13 straight top-three NCAA finishes from 1983-95, which followed three consecutive top-three results in the AIAW Championships.
