01.21.2007 | Football
Texas DE Brian Robison started and helped the West team to a 21-3 win in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday in Houston at Reliant Stadium. Despite facing numerous double teams, Robison recorded one tackle and two quarterback pressures in preventing the East team from reaching the end zone.
It marks the 11th straight year a Longhorn has participated in the game with TE David Thomas, FB Will Matthews and DE Kalen Thornton being the most recent. Thomas helped the West team to a win last year and went on to be drafted by the New England Patriots, who will play against the Indianapolis Colts in Sunday's AFC Championship Game.
Four other Longhorns are scheduled to participate in the 2007 Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 27. OL Justin Blalock, DE Tim Crowder, S Michael Griffin, and CB Aaron Ross will play in the game that airs at 3 p.m. CT on the NFL Network.
