Women's Swimming and Diving ranked eighth in CSCAA preseason rankings

AUSTIN, Texas -- Under second-year head coach Kim Brackin, the Texas women's swimming and diving team will open the 2007-08 season ranked eighth in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) preseason rankings. Defending NCAA champion Auburn tops the preseason rankings.
Texas returns seven All-Americans from the 2006-07 squad that took second at the Big 12 Championship and scored 220 points to place sixth at the NCAA Championship. UT also welcomes 2006 NCAA All-American Gisela Morales, an Auburn transfer, and a talented 10-member freshman class.
Texas opens the 2007-08 dual-meet season on Friday, Nov. 2 and Saturday, Nov. 3 when it meets No. 13 Michigan and No. 23 Indiana in Bloomington, Ind. UT hosts its lone home meet of the fall, the annual Texas Invitational, from Nov. 29 through Dec. 1 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
