Rollins leads Women's Golf in round two at UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Texas senior Ashley Rollins shot a two-over 73 to lead the Longhorns Saturday in round two of the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate at the par 71, 5,963-yard NorthRiver Golf Club.
Texas sits in a tie for 12th place at 44-over par after shaving a couple of strokes off of its opening round with a 21-over 305 in Saturday's second round. Arkansas leads the event at 27-over par, and Arkansas' Stacy Lewis and Furman's Stefanie Kenoyer lead individually at two-over par.
Rollins (Austin, Texas) shaved six strokes off of her opening round with the two-over 73. Rollins opened with a 37 on the back nine and finished with a 36 on the front nine to end the day tied for 30th place at 10-over par for the tournament.
Senior Julia Best (Bulverde, Texas) shot a nine-over 80 in round two and ended the afternoon tied for 36th place with an 11-over 153. Senior Kelley Louth sliced three strokes off of her opening round and ended with a five-over 76 in the second round.
Louth (Victoria, Texas) opened with a 40 on the back nine but stroked a 36 -- behind birdies at the second and fourth holes -- on the back nine. Louth heads into round three tied for 51st place at 13-over par.
Junior Kristin Walla (Aspen, Colo.) shot an 80 in round two and is tied for 57th place at 14-over par with one round remaining. Junior Caney Hines (San Antonio, Texas) improved by five strokes in the second round by shooting a five-over 76 to end the day tied for 62nd place at 15-over par.
Texas tees off in round three on Sunday at 9 a.m. Central.
