Hello again softball fans,
As you all know by now we had a rough week last week against a couple of very good teams from Baylor and Nebraska.
As a whole we are in a bit of a funk in all aspects of our game. I think that once each of us can figure out what it is that we need to do to pick our game up, then we will be able to start meshing well again. As individuals we need to build back our confidence and once that starts then it is inevitable that our success will be greater as a team.
On that note, we play Texas State on Wednesday night and we are hoping that that game will begin boosting our confidence. We are going to use the game to work on some specific goals that we have set for ourselves. The team is going to really focus on one game at a time, one pitch at a time and then work from there.
We are going to go back to the basics and make the game as easy and fun as possible. Lately we have been making softball hard for ourselves by beating ourselves. At today's practice I am sure that there is going to be a lot of coming to reality and figuring out what we all need to do in order to make a change. Once we come to an agreement on what those things are then we will be able to get after things and start to see progress.
This is the time when we all need to take a gut check and find out who we all are individually and who we are as a team. The way we come out of this funk will build and show character.
I hope to see you all out there on Wednesday night when we face the Bobcats
Signing out,
Your catcher, #10
