Yarrison wins bronze at World University Games

BANGKOK -- University of Texas senior diver Mary Yarrison led Team USA with a bronze-medal finish in the women's one-meter springboard event Wednesday at the 2007 World University Games.
Yarrison (Springfield, Va.) placed third in the one-meter event with a final score of 276.30 after automatically qualifying for the finals in the preliminary round. Italy's Noemi Batki and the Ukraine's Maria Voloshchenko shared the gold with final scores of 280.65.
Yarrison earned honorable mention All-America honors in the one-meter event and All-America accolades in the three-meter event at the 2007 NCAA Championships before taking the one-meter title at the USA Diving Spring National Championships last April.
