No. 7 Men's Tennis blanks Clemson, 7-0

AUSTIN, Texas -- No. 7 Texas (2-0) swept all nine singles and doubles matches en route to a 7-0 win over No. 30 Clemson Sunday afternoon at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
"We played a pretty complete match today, and we definitely improved from yesterday," UT coach Michael Center said. "It was a good ending to our weekend, and we're looking forward to going to Arkansas next week."
The Longhorns opened the day with a sweep of the double session. Sophomores Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala defeated Derek DiFazio and Kevin Galloway at the third slot, 8-2, and seniors Hubert Chodkiewicz and Luis Diaz Barriga tallied an 8-3 win over Ike Belk and Kevin Fleck at the second position to clinch the doubles point. Texas finished off the doubles sweep when freshmen Ed Corrie and Kellen Damico registered an 8-4 win at the first slot over Rok Bizjak and Carlos Alvarez.
Texas sealed the victory by winning all 12 singles sets. Kutrovsky pushed the Texas lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Bizjak at the first position. Senior Milan Mihailovic extended the UT lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-4 win at the fifth slot. Diaz Barriga clinched the team victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the fourth slot over Alvarez.
Corrie added on to the Texas tally with a 6-3, 6-0 win at third singles over Fleck, and Zavala pushed the lead to 6-0 with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Galloway at sixth singles. Damico completed the Longhorns' sweep with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Belk at the second position.
Texas resumes competition on Friday, Feb. 1 at Arkansas.
