No. 13 Women's Basketball rolls past Saint Mary's, 110-76

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Erika Arriaran scored 21 points to lead No. 13 Texas to a 110-76 win over Saint Mary's 110-76 in the second round of the World Vision Classic on Sunday.
Kathleen Nash and Brittainey Raven each had 20 points and Ashley Lindsay added 15 for the Longhorns. Carla Cortijo also had 12 assists.
The Longhorns used a 20-4 run in the first half to open up a 22-point lead and never looked back. They led 52-36 at halftime and Saint Mary's was unable to pull any closer in the second half.
Ashlee Smith scored 17 points and Katie Batlin added 11 for Saint Mary's. Louella Tomlinson grabbed 10 rebounds. St. Mary's was without its leading scorer Jontelle Smith.
Texas will take on No. 25 Old Dominion and Saint Mary's will play Dayton in the final round on Monday.

Opening statement: I was very proud of the team. I think we came out aggressively on both ends of the floor. It was difficult because the transition was incredible. I don't think we have played anybody who has transitioned as well as Saint Mary's did tonight. I told the team I was most proud of the 28 assists.
On tonight's fast-paced momentum and transitioning: We enjoyed the up-tempo and I think Saint Mary's enjoyed that as well. When you become a great team you realize that when you can transition you can (score), but when you can't you set up on your side of the court, and I was happy to see our team do that tonight.
Ashley Lindsey
On her performance: Tonight, Coach told me to step it up and ask more of myself, so that's what I tried to do.
On her aggressive start: We started a lot better than last night. We got our momentum going and really stepped it up.
Kathleen Nash
On her defensive game: We have been working on defense a lot in practice. With my height, we felt that I should be able to block a shot and slow down penetration, so we've worked on that. And I think we are really getting that down.
