Kincy clocks lifetime best at Iowa State Last Chance meet

AMES, Iowa -- Texas senior Temeka Kincy produced a lifetime best in one of her final indoor races of her collegiate career.
Kincy, a two-time All-American, improved her season- and career-best mark in the 800 on Saturday at the Iowa State Last Chance meet at Lied Recreation Center. She ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time of two minutes, 7.61 seconds to finish in the top 20 in the NCAA this year. She entered the meet with a personal-best and provisional qualifying time of 2:08.20.
The Longhorns return to the track next weekend at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. Texas will compete from Friday-Saturday, March 14-15 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Official qualifiers will be announced on Monday, March 10.
