Track & Field concludes competition at Clyde Hart Classic

Longhorns now turn their attention to the 98th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist.
WACO, Texas – Texas Track & Field wrapped up the Clyde Hart Classic on Saturday with multiple season- and personal-best performances, including strong finishes in hurdles, jumps, and throws.
Osawese Agbonkonkon led the Longhorns in the men's high jump, clearing a season-best 2.13 meters (6-11.75) to place second.
In the women's javelin, Iana Ahetz-Etcheber opened the day for Texas with a third-place throw of 37.53m (123-01), while Tabea Eitel finished eighth at 35.02m (114-10). Eitel also added a fourth-place mark of 12.20m (40-00.50) in the shot put, with Ahetz-Etcheber taking eighth at 9.84m (32-03.50).
Caroline Peterson cleared 1.65 meters (5-05) for fifth in the women's high jump.
On the track, freshman Mia Mason ran a season-best 13.80 in the women's 100-meter hurdles prelims, advancing to the final where she finished seventh in 14.06. Jonathan Hertwig-Odegaard advanced to the men's 110-meter hurdles final with a personal best in the prelims of 14.50, finishing eighth in the final in 14.96.
Sihle Mahlangu posted a personal best in the 400 meters with a ran of 47.38 seconds for seventh place, while Conor Kelly finished 16th in 48.20.
Mason closed out the day with a ninth-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 11.61.
Texas now turns its attention to the 98th running of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays presented by Truist, taking place Wednesday, April 1, through Saturday, April 4, at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field.
