Women's Track and Field's DMR takes 10th place at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Texas women's track and field distance medley placed 10th in the collegiate DMR event Thursday at the prestigious Penn Relays, while the Longhorns' 4x400 relay squad was disqualified in its heat and did not advance.
The Penn Relays run from Thursday-Saturday, April 24-26 on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
UT's distance medley quartet of sophomore Lauren Salisbury, senior Tameka Kincy, junior Katara Rosby (2:09.4) and sophomore anchor Betzy Jimenez were clocked in 11:23.98. Michigan won the event in a time of 10:49.58.
In the third heat of the collegiate women's 4x400 event, LSU came from behind to win the heat in 3:34.13, edging Miami (FL) which ran a 3:34.21, with Texas third at 3:35.1. Yet, the Longhorn quartet of junior Alex Anderson, freshman Chantel Malone, Kincy and senior Chauntae Bayne were disqualifed at the conclusion of the heat.
