Women's Cross Country finishes fourth at Texas A&M Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The University of Texas women's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish at the Texas A&M Invitational. The Longhorns placed three runners in the top 25 for their second-straight top-five team effort.
Texas, under the direction of assistant coach Stephen Sisson, tallied 101 points to finish one spot ahead of host Texas A&M (134 points). The Horns were led by junior Asia Myrland who clocked in at 17:59.43 for a 13th-place effort.
Senior Larkin Geyer, fresh off a second-place finish at the Texas State Invitational, ran the 5K course at a 5:49.3 pace to cross the finish line right behind Myrland in 18:02.88. Freshmen Julie Amthor collected her second top-25 effort in as many outings finishing in 18:18.53 for 25th place.
Newcomer Mia Behm completed the course in 18:23.30 to place 27th overall, while junior Allison Mendez clocked in at 18:30.01 for a 30th-place finish. Freshmen Ginny Simon and Laleh Mojtabaeezamani scored for the second-straight meet finishing in 38th (18:47.96) and 40th (18:51.38), respectively.
The Longhorns will rest for two weeks before heading to the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, Oct. 4 in Louisville, Ky.
