WACO, Texas -- The Texas men's cross country team placed second at the NCAA South Central Regional on Saturday to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. on Monday, Nov. 23. The Longhorns scored 74 points to finish behind region champion Arkansas (47) and ahead of Lamar (83) and Texas A&M (89).
"We're very proud of the way we've performed this year," said assistant coach John Hayes. "These guys have done everything I've asked of them and it is paying off. Our goal this season was to return to the NCAA Championships and we did that today.
