AUSTIN, Texas -- Nine former and current Texas Volleyball players have been named to the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Volleyball All-Century Team.
Current Longhorn and three-time All-American Destinee Hooker was named to the second team for her outstanding prep career at San Antonio Southwest High School.
Texas' lone first-team selection was Katy Jameyson (Alvin HS) who was a two-time AVCA All-America First Team selection in 1992-93 and a two-time Southwest Conference Player of the Year.
Joining Hooker on the second team were three-time AVCA All-American Michelle Moriarty (Houston Stratford HS), four-time All-American Demetria Sance (San Antonio Jay HS) and Heather Schreiber (Windthorst HS). Schreiber played volleyball for UT in 2005 after earning three All-Big 12 honors with the women's basketball team.
The Horns' third-team selections included 1999 AVCA All-American Erin Aldrich (Richardson Lake Highlands HS), 1993 All-Southwest Conference pick Holly Graham (Devine HS), 1985 All-American Laura Neugebauer (San Antonio Jefferson HS) and 1988 All-American Sue Schelfhout (Houston Clear Lake HS).
As part of its Centennial Celebration the UIL announced its All-Century Volleyball Teams as selected by the fans. Fans cast more than 14,000 votes for their favorite volleyball players in Texas high school history. Thirty players were named to the squad and were divided into three teams.
