Army eliminates Texas State, 7-4

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Army's Joey Henshaw drove in three runs with two hits to lead the Black Knights to a 7-4 win over second-seeded Texas State University in the NCAA Baseball Regionals. Army advances to Sunday against the loser of the second game between Boston College and top-seeded Texas.
Army (35-20) scored five runs in the bottom of the eight inning, four unearned, keyed by Henshaw's two-run, two-out single. Henshaw also blasted a third-inning opposite field home run for his 12th homer of the season to tie the Army school record.
The five-run Army rally was keyed by two Bobcat errors, two walks and three Army hits. Army closer Kevin McKague worked the ninth inning for his sixth save of the season.
Texas State (41-17) scored single runs in the first, third, sixth and seventh innings as Army committed three errors.
Pete Goldschmidt had two doubles for Texas State, while Spenser Dennis had two hits and two RBIs in the victory.
