- The University of Texas Men's Cross Country team will travel to Stillwater, Okla. to compete in the 2010 Big 12 Cross Country Championship this weekend. The 6K race will start at 11 a.m. CT at the Oklahoma State University Cross Country Course. The top 15 runners in each race will be named to the All-Big 12 team.
-Competing for Texas this Saturday will be senior Bradley Lowry, juniors Brian Rhodes-Devey and Brock Simmons, sophomores Austin Roth and Collin Smith and freshmen Ryan Dohner, Patrick McGregor, Will Nation and Phil Wood.
- The Longhorns placed fifth with 132 points at the 2009 Big 12 Championships, which were held at the A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia, Mo. Rory Tunningley led Texas with a 16th place finish (25:33.21) followed closely by Habben Berhane who crossed the line after Tunningley in 25:33.97 for 17th. Brian Rhodes-Devey placed 20th in 25:38.74, with Brock Simmons (25:57.50) and Austin Roth (26:13.72) rounding scoring for the Horns in 35th and 47th, respectively.
-Texas heads into the Big 12s with three team wins already on the season at the Texas State dual meet, the Concordia Invitational and the Princeton Invite. Freshman Ryan Dohner claimed his first collegiate title at the Princeton meet finishing first in 24:24.70.
-Following the Big 12s, Texas will prepare for the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, where the Longhorns finished second a year ago, earning a team berth to the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
