-The University of Texas Women's Cross Country team will compete in the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Ind., on Monday, Nov. 22. The race will be run on the LaVern Gibson Championship Course with an estimated start time of 12:08 p.m., Central.
-The Longhorns qualified as a team for the first time since 2003 by placing first at the NCAA South Central Regional on Nov. 13. Racing for Texas will be seniors Allison Mendez and Christina Henderson, juniors Julie Amthor and Mia Behm, redshirt sophomore Laleh Mojtabaeezamani and freshmen Marielle Hall, Megan Siebert and Sara Sutherland.
-Texas enters Monday's race already familiar with the Championship course. The Horns competed in the ISU Pre-Nationals Invitational in October, also run at LaVern Gibson, where they placed fifth out of 38 teams.
-Last year, Mia Behm and then-senior Betzy Jimenez became the first Longhorns to qualify individually for the NCAA Cross Country Championships since 2003. Jimenez placed second overall to automatically qualify while Behm finished 11th and earned an at-large bid to the national meet.
-In addition to Behm and senior Allison Mendez, who won two individual titles in 2009, Texas has added an impressive freshman class to its roster that has made a significant impact this season. Marielle Hall (Haddonfield, N.J.) was the top Texas runner in the Longhorn's fifth place finish at the ISU Pre-National Meet in October. Hall, who finished 18th at the 2009 Foot Locker XC Nationals, is joined by Dallas natives Megan Siebert and Sara Sutherland, who have been in Texas' top seven for much of the season.
