- The Longhorns return to the course after finishing second at the NCAA South Central Regional. The 2010 NCAA Championships mark the second consecutive year the Texas men have qualified for nationals
- Texas finished tied for 28th at last year's NCAA Championships. The Longhorns were led by then senior Habben Berhane's 79th-place finish in a time of 30:58. Returners Brock Simmons, Bradley Lowry, Brian Rhodes-Devey and Austin Roth ran at the 2009 NCAA Championships for Texas.
- Texas heads to the South Central Regional with three team wins on the season at the Texas State Dual Meet, the Concordia Invitational and the Princeton Invite. Freshman Ryan Dohner claimed his first collegiate title at the Princeton Invitational, finishing in 24:24.70.
- Dohner has been the Longhorns' top finisher in each of the three races he's competed in during his freshman campaign finishing first at the Princeton Invitational (24:24.70 - 8K), 20th at the Big 12 Championships (25:00.83 - 8K) and fifth at the NCAA South Central Regional (30:21.10 - 10K).
- This meet marks the 27th time the Texas men have qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championships with 1956's third-place finish marking the best in UT history.
