No. 19 Women's Tennis overpowers Missouri, 6-1

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- No. 19 Texas (14-4, 9-1 Big 12) took the doubles point and tacked on five singles victories in a 6-1 victory over Missouri (6-15, 1-9 Big 12) Friday evening at MU's Green Tennis Center.
The Longhorns opened with a dominant doubles performance to take the doubles point. UT's Vanja Corovic and Aeriel Ellis teamed up for an 8-2 win over MU's Mallory Weber and Kaitlyn Ritchie at first doubles. UT's Sarah Lancaster and Caroline Larsson added on an 8-2 win over the Tigers' Kristen Bleakley and Andrea Lewis at third doubles. Texas' Amanda Craddock and Caroline Larsson notched an 8-5 win over Sofia Ayala and Jamie Mera at second doubles.
Damico outlasted MU's Weber by a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 count at second singles, and Corovic made short work of the Tigers' Mera at third singles, where she won by a 6-0, 6-3 count. Junior Maggie Mello contributed a 7-5, 6-3 win over Maria Christensen at fourth singles, and senior Sarah Lancaster ran her career Big 12 regular-season record to 37-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Lewis at fifth singles.
Junior Abby Liu added her second straight conference win by topping Maureen Modesto at sixth singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Texas concludes the regular season on Sunday, April 25 at Colorado before hosting the Big 12 Championships next week in Austin.
