Men's Track and Field's Stewart advances at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Texas freshman Keiron Stewart advanced to the finals of the 110-meter hurdles as the Longhorns opened up competition at the NCAA Championships on Thursday. Stewart advanced automatically after clocking a 13.62 to finish second in his heat. His prelim time was the fifth-fastest on the day.
The 4x400-meter relay team of juniors Andre Thomas and Danzell Fortson and seniors Tevas Everett and Jonathan Collins were unable to advance to Saturday's final. The quartet clocked a 3:08.94 to finish fourth in their heat, but 16th overall.
In the pole vault, freshman Hayden Clark was unable to clear the opening height of 16-4.75.
The Longhorns will continue competition on Friday with Jamal Wilson in the high jump at 5:30 p.m. (Central).
