Softball signee Thom named TGCA 4A-5A MVP

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) has named Texas Softball signee Taylor Thom as its 2009-10 4A-5A Most Valuable Player. The incoming freshman was also recognized with her third-straight TGCA All-State honor.
Thom recently completed a stellar prep career at nearby Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, where she was named the 2010 District 16-5A Most Valuable Player.
In 2009, she led her Vista Ridge team to a 5A state runner-up finish and a District 16-5A title. Thom was named to the TGCA All-State team in 2008 and 2009, and garnered Austin American Statesman All-CenTex accolades in 2009.
