Women's Cross Country perfect again at Ricardo Romo Texas Classic

SAN ANTONIO -- Junior Mia Behm captured her second individual title in as many meets as she led the Texas Women's Cross Country team to the team title at the Ricardo Romo/Six Flags Texas Classic Friday night in San Antonio. The Longhorns tallied 15 points for their second consecutive perfect score of the 2010 season.
Texas occupied each of the top five spots and eight of the top ten. Behm crossed the finish line at 17:10, her 5K career best. Freshman Marielle Hall took second, clocking in at 17:25, followed by senior Allison Mendez (17:35), freshman Megan Siebert (17:40) and junior Julie Amthor, who also posted a 5K career best in 17:44.
Junior Laleh Mojtabaeezamani finished in seventh place with a career best 17:51, with senior Christina Henderson (18:00) close behind in eighth. Junior Ginny Simon posted a time of 18:17, good for 10th place overall.
Freshman Brittany Marches (18:31), senior Megan Vasquez (18:50), junior Jordan Clark-Mand (19:06) and sophomore Heather Canizales (20:05) finished in 13th, 19th, 25th and 40th, respectively.
Next, the Longhorns will split the squad on Oct. 16, running in both the Concordia University Invite in Round Rock and the ISU Pre-Nationals Invite in Terre Haute, Ind.
