Behm leads Women's Cross Country to team title at Johnny Morris Invite

HOUSTON -- University of Texas junior Mia Behm won the Johnny Morris UH Invite individual title Friday night to lead the women's cross country team to their first team title of the 2010 season. Texas harriers filled the top five spots and six of the top seven en route to picking up a perfect score of 15 points.
Behm clocked the only sub-11 minute time of the 3,200m race with a 10:52.75 to pick up her first career individual cross country title. Freshman Megan Siebert came in second with a time of 11:06.49 and junior Julie Amthor rounded out the top three with an 11:16.20.
Freshman Sara Sutherland crossed the line in fourth just behind Amthor in 11:17.40 while sophomore Ginny Simon completed the Longhorn top five sweep with a time of 11:18.46.
Senior Jordan Clark-Mand (11:48.22), senior Megan Vasquez (11:51.92) and sophomore Heather Canizales (12:20.45) finished 14th, 15th, and 20th respectively.
Up next for the Horns is the Ricardo Romo Classic in San Antonio on September 17.
