- The nationally-ranked Longhorns hope open the 2010 season this Friday and will look to continue their success in Assistant Coach John Hayes' third season. Texas enters the season tied for 28th in the USTFCCCA's preseason poll. In 2009, the Longhorns finished second at the South Central Region Championships and earned a berth at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, where they finished tied for 28th.
- Texas returns 12 runners with collegiate cross country experience along with a talented group of newcomers and redshirt freshmen that will add depth to the Longhorn squad.
- The Longhorns return four of their five point earners from the NCAA Championships last season in juniors Rory Tunningley, Brock Simmons and Brian-Rhodes Devey along with senior Bradley Lowry. Sophomore Austin Roth also competed at NCAA's in 2009 for the Texas men.
- The next meet for the Longhorns will be Saturday, Oct. 16 for the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
