1,650 Freestyle
Wendy Trott, Georgia
On how she physically pushed through the race: I'm done (tired), but I'm happy. The team championship was certainly on my mind, but in a good way. That's the best motivation for me is knowing that I have to go for my team. That definitely helped push me through when it got really tough.
On her game plan for the race: I'm definitely more of a back half swimmer, unlike the rest of the field. I knew I had to take it out easy, and then try and take it in the second half.
200 Backstroke
Maggie Meyer, Wisconsin
On her reaction to winning the national title: I feel really tired and really relieved. It was my dream to be an NCAA Champion, but I didn't really feel that was in my grasp until about 35 yards to go. I was happy I could be strong and bring it home.
On her thoughts those final yards: I was thinking about moving my arms as fast as I could and moving as much water as possible. I wasn't really aware of where my competition was, I just wanted to get to the wall.
100 Freestyle
Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, Auburn
On winning multiple individual titles: It feels awesome. I've been working hard on my sprint events, the 50 and 100, so to come up with the national championship in both is pretty great.
On her approach to such a competitive final: I knew I was going to have to do whatever I could to get my hand on the wall first. It was eight great girls in that race, so it was tough.
Karlee Bispo, Texas
On another podium finish at her home pool: It's pretty exciting any time you get top five. I'm really happy with my meet, and I'm excited that I was able to score so well for my team.
200 Breaststroke
Haley Spencer, Minnesota
On winning such a competitive race: It was so close, especially those last few meters. I just needed to go, that's all I kept thinking. I needed to finish strong.
On realizing she won: It took me a little while, because I didn't understand the No. 1 next to my name, I was just looking at my time. It finally hit, but it took a little while to process.
Laura Sogar, Texas
On a podium finish at her home pool: It's definitely an honor to be in an A final, in the pool where you train every day. I was really happy with that. I made two B finals last year; this was my first time in a championship final and I'm glad it was here.
On such issues during the race: My had a bit of a malfunction with my goggles. They almost fell off, and I was freaking out. I almost let it get to me too much. But I got it together, and didn't let it affect me too much.
On performing at this meet: I was happy with my performance this meet. Unfortunately, I didn't place as high as we would have liked, but I dropped a lot of time this season. For me personally, and the team in general, we've made huge strides with our technique. We're learning how to perform under pressure.
200 Butterfly
Katinka Hosszu, Southern California
On winning her third title in as many days: I'm really, really happy. I'm exhausted today. But we still have a relay left, so I'm trying to get ready for that.
Platform Diving
Brittany Viola, Miami
On her reaction to the win: I'm just ecstatic. I'm a senior and on my way out. This is my last competition of my collegiate career, so I couldn't be any more excited.
On her mindset: I just wanted to have fun, taking in every moment.
400 Freestyle Relay
Morgan Scroggy, Georgia
On finishing the meet with a relay win: It's a little bittersweet, but I think we did well. You know it's going to be fast, so you just do what you know how to do.
Kim Brackin, Texas
On her team's performance: We're really proud of the team. They built momentum through the meet. Although, it was certainly disappointing for us to see Maren (Taylor) in so much pain, and not be able to compete. But we're so proud of her for pushing through this season. As a team, we've overcome a lot of things that could have set us back this year, but I'm really proud of our girls, how they've handled it and how they've grown from it. This last night was exciting.
