TEAM NOTES
- Texas erased a 13-point (13-0) deficit in the win, the largest deficit overcome in a win by the Longhorns since Nov. 3, 2007 when they wiped out a 21-0 and 35-14 deficits en route to a 38-35 win over Oklahoma State.
- Texas erased a six point (16-10) deficit after three quarters, the first time the Longhorns won when trailing after three quarters for the first time since Nov. 3, 2007 when they wiped out a 35-14 deficit.
- Texas won when trailing at halftime for the first time since Oct. 17, 2009 when Texas erased a 6-3 deficit to topple Oklahoma 16-13.
- Texas won when scoring less than 20 points for the first time since the 2009 Big 12 Championship game against Nebraska (13-12).
- Texas improved to 43-6 in games played in August/September under Mack Brown, including winning 36 of its last 40.
- Texas recorded its first win in three attempts against BYU with both previous meetings coming in the 1980s.
- Texas held an opponent under 100 rushing yards for the 67th time in in the last 128 games.
- Texas didn't give up a second half TD for the second consecutive game and have outscored opponents 35-6 in the second half this season.
- Texas hasn't given up a point in the fourth quarter in its last six games.
- Texas held BYU to 1-of-6 on 3rd down conversions in the game. On the season, the Longhorns have held opponents to 1-of-11 on third down conversions in the second half.
- Texas owned a 201-67 advantage in total offense in the second half. The Longhorns have outgained their opponents 509-173 in the second half this season.

David Ash

- Ash's 23-yard reception at the end of the fourth quarter was the first of his career.
Quandre Diggs
- Diggs' interception at the end of the fourth quarter was the first of his career.
Ashton Dorsey
- Dorsey's sack was the first of his career.
D.J. Grant
- Grant caught his first career pass at the end of the third quarter.
Cody Johnson
- With his two TD runs, Johnson's season total moved to three and his career total moved to 33, tied for seventh place with Jim Bertelsen (33 - 1969-71) on UT's list for career TDs.
- Johnson ended the game with 1,286 career rushing yards moving past Priest Holmes (1,276 - 1992-96) and Terry Orr (1,279 - 1981-84) for 31st place on the Longhorns' career rushing list.
Case McCoy
- McCoy set career-highs for pass completions (seven), pass attempts (eight) and passing yards (57). He entered the game 0-for-2 in pass attempts.
D.J. Monroe
- Monroe averaged 13.3 yards per carry with 40 yards on three attempts.
- Monroe's 26-yard reception was the first of his career.
Adrian Phillips
- Phillips' interception at the end of the second quarter was the first of his career.
Jaxon Shipley
- Shipley set a career-high with three receptions, topping the two he had against Rice in the season opener.
- Shipley's 23-yard pass completion at the end of the fourth quarter was the first of his career.
Justin Tucker
- Tucker improved to 26-of-30 in his career on field goal attempts.
- Tucker improved his string of consecutive field goals made to nine.
