Hannan enters Maryland Swimming Hall of Fame

AUSTIN, Texas -- Former Texas All-American Tommy Hannan has been inducted into the Maryland Swimming Hall of Fame.
Hannan was an All-American in four straight years from 1999-2002 for the University of Texas picking up All-America honors in 17 events. He was a part of three straight National Championship teams in 2000, 2001 and 2002. En route to winning the championships he claimed individual national titles in the 400 medley relay in 2000 and the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relays in 2001.
In the midst of an outstanding collegiate career, Hannan earned a gold medal in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney with the U.S. National Team, finishing first in the 400m medley relay. He also won a gold medal at the 1999 World University Games in the 200 individual medley.
Hannan graduated from Texas in 2003 with a finance degree. He and his wife Shanna now live in Seattle, where he is an assistant coach with the prestigious KING Aquatic Swim Club.
